Just finished purchase of an L579 in 22-250. Paid $xxxx, but think I did OK. Seems to be in 98%+ shape, with no marking or issues with the high gloss blueing. Has a Leupold Vari-III 3.5 x 10 scope on Redfield mounts. Only problem that I see is that it is scarred with the "Garcia" under the barrel, but I still can't wait to shoot it. Anyone have comments??

If the rifling is good - the rifle is good. They are shooters and you should be quite happy. This gun was probably imported mid sixties to very early seventies when Garcia was the importer. Nothing to worry about there.
Let us know how it shoots.

Had a 243 version since 71.There is not a production gun company, on the whole, who produces more accurate rifles.Their barrel making is superb. No, I am not saying there is no company that cannot produce as accurate a rifle, just overall on averages.I have other sako products, and they are also accurate.Would never be afraid of sako.
