Talking Who says cops don't have a sense of humor?

Who says cops don't have a sense of humor?

"The handcuffs are tight because they're new. They'll stretch out after you wear them awhile."

"If you run, you'll only go to jail tired."

"So, you don't know how fast you were going. I guess that means I can write anything I want on the ticket, huh?"

"Yes sir, you can talk to the shift supervisor, but I don't think it will help. Oh, did I mention that I am the shift supervisor?"

"Warning! You want a warning? O.K., I'm warning you not to do that again or I'll give you another ticket."

"The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or dog?"

"Yeah, we have a quota. Two more tickets and my wife gets a toaster oven."

"Life's tough, it's tougher if you're stupid."

"In God we trust, all others are suspects."

"No sir, we don't have quotas anymore. We used to have quotas, but now we're allowed to write as many tickets as we want."

"Just how big were those two beers?

That's better than the cop saying, "Sit down and shut up". Might as well make the best of the situation.

Wink

Traveling cross-country while in the Navy - I got nailed doing eighty in a 55 driving my Firebird. Bubble-gum machine done hit the jackpot!
The cop was ex-Navy, too. He had just made seargent, and had gotten the then-new instant-on radar - by the time my detector buzzed - too late!
We sat in his car, trading war-stories (I had precious few - hadn't gone to sea yet), and he showed me how all the neat cop-stuff worked. We were guy-bonding. I figured "No problem, we're buddies now. No ticket!"
Wrong - still got the ticket! Bummer.

I haven't been back to Naw'lins since.

Big Dog: I believe my nephew Kansas HW Patrolman would do the same even if it was his father. He'd just smile all the time and act cordial as he kept writing. Don't think there'd be any exceptions so hope he doesn't ever stop me.

On top of that he's a hard core gun fan with a gun collection to envy.
