1909 argentino

Here is another mauser that I have. All I need for it is a stock for it. Where should I look for a stock that would normally be found on this gun?

Other 1909's that I have seen dont have the downtuned bolt handle like mine?

Is there anything you guys can tell me about this rifle tht I might not know?

Thanks for any info

Hi brentp, what I can tell you for what I can see in the picture is that your 1909 Argie is probably an Engineer Carbine, not as long as the Infantry Rifle but pretty similar in general terms. It can also be an Infantry Rifle with the downtuned bolt handle very used for custom rifles. You only need to measure its barrel: if it's 556mm long then you have an Engineer one and if it's 740mm then it's an Infantry.

For the stock I have seen these three, but they are all for the Infantry Rifle. The action is the same for both so if it's an Engineer then you could pick this one up and adapt it (only the front part).

I only have a question for you, just a doubt since I dont remember seeing it in mine when stripped it, do yours have the shake hands stamp under S/N near the crest? (it's the same stamp you can see in the safe pin) Would you mind posting a picture if it does? Thanks in advance.

I have the same 1909 rifle but it's the carbine calvery model.

EDIT: Your barrel and action is one of the best or the best. Buy you an aftermarket stock and use it to hunt with.
The 7.65 Argentine caliber is excellent to...A.H
