I started out life left handed. At an early age, I could write mirror image from right to left with my left hand and read the window painted store specials from inside of the stores. My teacher made me sit on my left hand and practice with my right. She used to say, "It's a right handed world." She might have been right about that. Except for writing on a flat horizontal surface and shooting rifles and shotguns, I tend to do more things more efficiently with my left hand than my right. I shoot pistols equally well with both hands, though I am just a little faster in the reloading exercise with my left hand. When I taught firearms at the academy range, I found being ambidextrous handy with varying left and right handed students. Incidentally, I shoot with both eyes open and I believe that most people can too if they would practice a little at it.
Except for a few pistols and shot guns the safety in in the wrong place,Savage shotguns got the tang safety,my 45 auto I have learned to deal with lefthanded and no problem with rifles, dont shoot like the fellow in Saveing Private Ryan, reaching over the top but shooting from a rest(mostly do) can throw lead and hit what I'm aiming at.We were all born Left handed until we sinned.
I remember buying a M37 Ithica and going rabbit hunting and when a rabbit went out I pushed the bar safety "OFF" and pulled the trigger and nothing happened.Never having fired the gun before I thought it was broken when I bought it and unloaded it and didn't look at it til we got in.Then I discovered it had a lefthand bar safety. It also demonstrates you should follow all safety rules and never trust a safety. Before I tried it I was carrying it with a shell in the chamber and safety "OFF". sam.
You found a lefty here but I normally don't shoot bolt actions. On the few occasions that I have I reach over with the left hand to work the bolt but in a prone position the left arm blocks your view of the target.

I'm a left handed shooter and left eye dominant. I've never owned a LH weapon and it would prolly feel strange to me. I've found advantages to using a RH rifle left handed, however, RH sidearms are a little annoying.
I'm a lefty. I know that Tikka makes a few of their rifles left handed and I think that CZ does as well in the 527 model. Remington, Browning, Savage, and winchester used to make them.
I'm left handed but right eye dominant so I shoot archery and guns right handed. I also can shoot a pistol equally well with either hand. thats an advantage i really like.
