The Rifle Sbowers built for FMJ

Steve Bowers built an excellent rifle for Full MeTal Jack. Started as a sporterized Turk 38. Installed a new Norwegian .308 target barrel from Numrich or Sportsman Guide. The cut barrel to from 29" to 26". Put on a deep polished blueing. Put it in a Fagen laminated stock and topped it off with a Tasco Hunting Scope.
Sighted it in at 25 yards then back to 90 yards. Was shooting on an old wobbly table. Shot # 10 was a flyer. Shooting FNM .308 milsurp.
Not crazy about the receiver to stock fit. Will bed the action later.
Here are some pics.

An old Turk gets another chance. Yes it's nice. Will take to regular gun range and shoot on concrete bench and sand bags.

Very good looking rifle !!! The blueing and the stock look excellent.

Is the bolt handle touching the stock ? It looks like it is. Should it be ?

I don't know Steve real well, but read many posts that he had a little while back.
He seems to be the type that knows what he is doing and just don't need any fame.
Well anyway Steve where ever you is "You the Man" and the rifle speaks for itself there buddy...............

Thanks for all the nice words guys, I try to do the very best work that is possible within my limited ability. I always build rifles as if they were my own, and I'm very picky about my personal guns.

Well done Mr. Steve but why didn't you replace "your" ejector?
I'll bed the action little later. Replace trigger and shoot some more that ought to tighten them groups. Once all that is done will work on a recipe of powder and bullet wieghts to find it's sweet spot.

Looking forward to some of your other clients posting their Bowers Customs.
