competition pistol calibers

Is there a limitation on caliber for cowboy competition? I have been seeing some nice single actions in 357 magnum. Are those allowed?

easier to use 38 special than download 357 to the velocity limits for cowboy action, the small amount of powder moves around and will fire different if fired when the powder is more in the front or the rear of the cartridge
