CCW in Northeast/Northcentral Ohio & Erie Co. Sheriff
Decided it was time for me to get my permit. I looked around on the 'net for suggestions on where to go for the class and Commence Fire ( commencefire.com ) came highly recommended. It was a very good class. Very informative and they were very through on safety. The class room was clean and their equipment was modern and all the instructors were knowledgeable. They had snacks and beverages on hand reasonably priced and provided us with pizza for lunch......free. They gave me everything I would need to apply for my permit....everything except the $55. I would recommend them to anyone.
Had heard that it takes a bit of time to get a permit through Lorain Co. so I decided to use Erie Co. My experience with them was good. The lady that i delt with was pleasent and handled things professionally. I dropped the application off at around 1:00PM on May 18. I picked my permit up today, May 26.
In Montgomery County (Dayton), and they took the entire 45 day period that the law says they can take, matter of fact, their office for CCW permits is only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My son got his in Clark County and it took right around 3 weeks. Too bad I can't use Erie County for when I renew, sounds like those folks know how to get stuff done.
