Fishing Update

Took my son out and bought him his own brand new ugly stick junior. We've been out 2 more times to the lake and still no fish. He hasnt lost faith about catching one though, he keeps asking to go pishin'.

I also went surf fishing 3 times over the weekend. Guess what no luck there either. I went on thursday, caught the tide just right, the striped bass were jumping out of the water. Everyone on the beach were catching them except us. Turned out we were using the wrong rig. The next 2 times we went we missed the tide but went just to go and hang out at the beach and enjoy the weather.

This week I am going to get a pass so I can drive my truck on the beach and not have to lug our gear over the dunes. Hopefully the tide will turn, bad pun intended, and we will catch something soon. More importantly we've had fun each time we went.

In this day and age, just getting time to go is a plus !! Catching fish is just icing on the cake.

What is this "fishing" of which you speak? Sounds familiar....

fishing in its purest form IMHO is taking your kids out and passing on the tradition of drownding a worm or two and teaching them real environmental respect not found in the form of peta or hsa.does that ring a bell rondog?

i say this because opening season of trout season here my daughter brought a good friend who'd never "killed" anything(public school...............baaaaaaaa!) she not only caught her first trout but found out her "kill" was pretty tasty salted, peppered, and tossed in a fire wrapped in foil.
