If it All Crumbles What Do We Do ??

Given our geographical isolation, what would you consider to be the best path for our State to take if there is a large scale revolt outside ??

1. Immediately secede and form a new Govt

2. Immediately declare a State of Emergency by a hand vote of the State Legislature and order the National Guard and Territorial Guard to defend our borders.

3. Do one of the above and seize all foreign and federal assets.

4. Wait and hold what we got.

It would have to be pretty serious for China or Russia to invade Alaska.

Obama may hand over Alaska to the chinks to settle our debt Later...LOL

That is a tough question to answer...
First we should send all The Democrats and Liberals to the Insurrection area to see if they can Quell the situation !

If the organic fertilizer hits the oscillating cooling device (the you know what hits the fan) I might make a run for Alaska or Montana.

I think No. 4 followed by Nos. 3, 1 and 2, in that order would pretty well cover the governmental-crumbling situation. Be sure to seize the air bases early on; You'll need airpower to keep the Ecotopians out of your turf.

You might recall that shortly after the election, I put up a couple of posts, one humorous and one serious, about what would happen if Obama and his lackeys oppressed the People enough to foment a revolt against his administration. In both scenarios, I had Alaska becoming an independent nation. With the possible exception of Texas, it's the only state in the Union that has sufficient domestic resources (meaning, within its own borders) to make its becoming a viable nation a reality.

If you decide you need an Alaskan Navy, you might remember my name.

You guys remember that mining town in West Virgina back in the day that tried to revolt. Remember? Military action was brought upon them and YES the USA military did kill a few of them.

Just saying....

Oh come on Steve, really? I can't say that I know any better since I don't live there, but come on man, please explain to me how you are going to secede from the US in Alaska and make it anything better.

Let's say for one second that it was actually feasibly possible, it is not possible, but lets say it does happen. You try to take over any military base, you will be taken out, period. Enemies foreign and domestic right?

Lets say you don't go that route and peacefully take over. You now have Alaska, by it's self with no currency, no military, anything that comes into your borders is imported, and if you want to leave the state well too bad, need to have a passport.

All joking aside, and I am not trying to be a jerk here, how is it exactly going to get so bad that you will secede? I mean people aren't starting or committing suicide yet which was during our last great depression.

I can't fathom it being that bad up there.

We wouldn't need to take over any Post or Base. They would fold on their own, eventually. We do have our own military. It's called the Territorial Guard. And obviously its numbers would have to swell.

If the US goes into a deep depression, we won't be guaranteed the daily arrival of barges with goods. That will probably be what forces us to make a move of some kind !! We do have our own food, but it wouldn't be enough, so we would have to trade with Canada.

Trade what you say ? Oil my friend, good old oil. And let's not forget Natural Gas either, a commodity Japan is chomping on its bit to get at. We don't have a currency, then I guess neither do you. My dollar will be just as good as yours.
Maybe even better, since we would have something to back it with !!

No one commiting suicide ?? Well, you are correct for the time being. I sure hope to God it stays that way too !!

All of this concerns me deeply. That is why I posted it here !! To see if any other Alaskans were as concerned as I.

Oh I am sure those giant oil companies would not want Alaska to secede form the USA. You think they want to pay taxes on importing it? Do you think that the federal government wants Alaska to take it's oil with it?

Who owns your oil again? The government right? They own it and then pay the citizens for it right?

Who owns the government? I would say big business. They would have more money and resources and pull than any citizens group would.

I see your point on getting goods to Alaska and that is something I over looked. Does put it into a different perspective I would say...

I still say go to Moose's house first lol.
