Sellier & Bellot aquired by CBC of Brazil

They also own Magtech and Metallwerk Elisenhutte.Dont know if I like that much, always liked their 45acp but for reloading the primer pockets always tight, maybe they will cure that and make better brass if we get any at all.

Not a good thing ! It will efect alot of the metric calibers that Non reloaders depend on if restrictions are placed on imported ammo. Then again it could make quallity better as far as brass,S&B always had tight primer pockets.Would feel better if Rem.or Win.had bought them out.

I'd feel better if Aguila had bought them, but then, I think Aguila is partly owned by Remington(?).

I hope that their ammunition will become more readily available. I would love to find some of their Sierra ammo in 8mm or 7.62X54R rather than just the soft points. I cannot find anyone on this side of the Atlantic that carries anything but the soft points.

Let me get this straight, a Brazilian company just bought a Serbian company?

Wonder if that will impact the fact that Winchester's 7.62X54R is actually made by S&B?

I really like the Sellier & Bellot ammunition I've used, especially their 7.65 MM Browning (.32 ACP) ammo. It's the best .32 factory ammo I've ever shot, period.

I hope their quality doesn't go down. I always liked Sellier & Bellot. That is what I use in my .45 as protection ammo. I have carried it in my .40 too in the past. If I had to select a FMJ ammo as carry ammo it would be Sellier & Bellot.

I decided to buy Norma brass just 100 pieces,I know where it comes from and would be better for forming 8x56R Hungarian, got 20 pieces that have been reloaded more than 20 times and are still in verry good shape.YEP 100 pieces and it should last me,I do have other rifles,so it makes sence to feed the russian rifles the verry best.

Thumbs up

Lee's primer pocket reamer can fix that easily enough.

Hey Ganny, you're thinking of Prvi Partizan. S&B is a Czech...or is it Slovakian company?.....anyway it's czechoslovakian ammo. and my M-44 loves the stuff

S&B was aquired by CBC. CBC was the Manufacturer/ exporter of Rossi. CBC has been aquired by Taurus. Taurus is now the manufacturer / exporter of Rossi.

so how does all of this fit together? are they seperate entities somehow or is Taurus now the parent company of both?

I'm really confused by all of these mergings. I have a hard time keeping up.

sooner or later Remington will probably have them too.

So this explains why the rossi gun site advertises taurus guns. I was wondering why the rossi site listed taurus products

I shoot Magtech out of my 1911 and it runs fine. As in all products regardless of the origin, if good materials are produced under premium quality controll; you will have a good product.

What caliber were you reloading,I shoot a 45 acp and like thier ammo for reliability, primers and bullets are sealed with red sealant, but when it is time to reload the primers go in hard so hard that they feel like they will go off,I use the Lee hand prime tool and dont have this problem with any other brand.
