Stevens 200 build up

Well I've got the parts coming in for my Stevens build up. I will be turning it into a 9 round Detachable mag bolt rifle. I'm very exited about this, I may not even have to spark up the Dremel. Here's some pictures of the build I found on another site. I'm drooling

My new Budget Bolt Buildup Begins! - Yellow Bullet Forums

Choate Tactical stock for detachable mag short action center feed. 159.00
Savage OE Bottom metal ?
Sharp Shooter Supply .308 magazine kit nine rounds baby! 75.00
Savage OE metal trigger guard [the plastic ones break] ?
And that's how you fix a Stevens!

Stevens 200 Custom Build

Wow - read about this on here so I wanted to try it. I like to Antelope hunt in Wyoming so I decided to go with a Stevens 200 25-06 and build from their.
1) Stevens 200 25-06
2) Rifle Basix Trigger
3) Choate Ultimate Varminter Stock
4) Choate Bi-Pod Adapter
5) Shillen 25-06 AI Barrel
6) Recoil Lug replaced
7) Talley 20moa scope base
8) Tasco for now on their couldnt wait for the Leupold and had this in my drawer so off to the range to fire form brass and see what it will do.

Next to go Leupold custom shop scope, tactical bolt handle, and paint.

This is Ackley Improved now but havent shot those loads yet still fire forming brass but I have no complaints with this ...

I'm waiting for the Sharp Shooter supply 9 round mag. The stock is built like a tank, and it is more accurate than before. Dropped right in. Working on pics, trying to find out if my new OS will support my camera. At 3.1 lbs it is much lighter than other Choate stocks. Now for the barrel, I'm going to put a stock 10PFLe 2b barrel on it.

Well, how's this for a Savage upgrade?

The action is a 10FP; the bottom metal comes from CDI Precision Gunworks. The owner (Jeff) is a VERY knowledgeable and nice guy.

I was looking at the Savage Shooter's Supply 9 round kit--until I could not get the company to contact me!!!

I'm glad they did not, now. The great thing about having CDI do the work is that he will modify his bottom metal to fit the rifle stock. If you have the Savage Shooter's supply kit, you must have the newer type of action, with the 4.41 inch screw spacing. The slightly older, second generation rifles have 4.25 inch screw spacing. Jeff can install the metal on different spacings, and different rifles.

The magazines are Accuracy International 10 rounders. VERY well made, and worth the extra coin.

Here's the best part: I sent Jeff the stock, and had it sent back, with the mag kit installed, IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS--AND THAT INCLUDES TRANSIT TIME!!!

You want the best? Give Jeff a ring. Look up CDI Precision Gunworks, in Sarasota, FL.

Mine's 4.41 so I'm hoping it will bolt right up. If it gets here.

Stevens Custom

I had the barrel put on it was much less then buying the tools to do it myself, gunsmith did it for $50 took 2 weeks to get it back. Did the trigger myself, adjusted it and installed the stock with no problems. Got the scope on it now, custom leupold with m1 turrets and it shoots great. Got 4 fox with it 2 weeks ago, 250 - 580 yds. hopin to go get some more of them this week if the sun ever shows itself again. Full moon's comin go away clouds....... Try to get some pics out of mine soon. Great, easy build gun highly recomend it. .223 and .308 next.

Dill - Upgrade that .223

Yes you can upgrade the barrel on the Stevens .223 you will probably have to replace the stock and I would recomend replacing the trigger with a rifle basix, or jewel adjustable.

Looks great, mine is the same except for the heavier barrel. How do you like the Tactical Stock. It made mine more accurate.
