If your using M2 Ball make sure you put the original gas plug back on. Before you do push on the poppet and clean out all the junk inside.. The spring should be strong and it should seat completely.
Based on your posts above your losing gas pressure. There is only a few things it can be:
1. Your Gas Cylinder is out of spec and the gas is blowing by the op-rod piston. (Hard to measure without the tool)
2. Your op-rod piston is out of spec and the gas is blowing by. It should be no smaller then .525" in diameter (Make sure its not out of round)
3. The port on the barrel is blocked (I think you said you checked this.) A
0.0805 inch drill bit should pass through the hole.
4. The Gas plug is leaking past the poppet.
5. The Gas Cylinder isn't seated correctly and is blocking the barrel port. (You can verify this by visual inspection with the gas plug off.)
6. Op-rod Binding: You said it passes the tilt test so Op-rod binding isn't it.
7. Heavy carbon build up in the gas cylinder.
8. Weak or broken Op-Rod Spring. (If you haven't ever replaced this do so. A fresh Op-Rod spring solves many problems.)
9. Lack of lubrication.
Good luck.
