Question Which carbine to buy

OK . . I already know what I am gonna hear but I can't buy them both. Tying to decide between the 995 and the 4095. Just wondering which caliber is better . . going to be mostly just plinking with it. I know my dealer has at least one but forgot to check the caliber. If thats the only one he has I am probably gonna grab it no matter the caliber but just wondering if I had a choice which one should I pick.

Either is good. The 995 has the ATI aftermarket stock available for it, whereas the 4095 doesn't. 9mm is usually cheaper ammo than .40 (back when ammo was available), but the .40 is also deadly accurate and hard-hitting. Bottom line is, if you can find ANY H-P carbine, buy it!

FWIW - I have one of each.

The only pistol ammo I'm seeing is 40 S&W all other calibers are sold out.

Oh, if you DO get one, get extra magazines, even if you have to order them from H-P. You'll be glad you have them! Stopping to stuff mags ain't as much fun as emptying them.

I was thinking the 995 because of the ati stock available for it. I think that is what my dealer has.

I called my dealer last night on the way to work. He has 995's in stock with a red dot scope for $199. Told him I will be over to look at one again tomorrow. . .gotta see if I can sell something to buy one. Also going to check the local gander mountain today. . they had one in the back of the gunsmith area back in February I wonder if they still have...I didn't ever see it on the shelf and didn't sound like they could put it out there for some reason. That was a 995 with facotry stock and ATI stock.

Great price, buy it! You'll never beat that price.

Ok...I have decided...going to put some money down on a 995 tomorrow but first have to sell my Hipoint 45 so I can buy it. Anyone have an idea what I should ask for it? I bought it in the beginning of the year and have only put 50 rounds thru it. I was thinking of putting it on gunbroker with a starting price of 125 and buy it now of 175 and I will pay shipping at buy it now price. Reason I am selling it is mostly because I didn't really shoot it much.

My advice to you would be keep your 45. Soon they will have a high black market resale value.

You better put some cash down on it to make sure it's yours first.

I already talked to him. He isn't really a big dealer..sells from his house and I have bought quite a few from him in the past couple years....he said he would set one aside for me.

If you want to check out 9mm/.40 performance from the carbine length barrel, go here.

Well..my Hi-point .45 just sold on Gunbroker for 130 so I plan on putting some money on the 995 carbine I have on hold at my dealers. As a promise to my wife I need to sell something else so no money for guns comes from our checking account so we can pay bills. Got 2 shotguns going in the paper tomorrow.

The one I am getting has the old style stock for $199. Guy has 2 left. One of my other local shops says they can't get any Hi-point carbines in and if I can find one then I should grab it now. Honestly I don't care for that new stock...I plan on getting the ATI stock later for it anyways.

If you live in NY, you have to deal with all the nasty regs involved with selling a pistol. And if it's your last pistol, you have to surrender your Pistol License. Don't Do It!!!

NEVER sell a working/good functioning gun to finance another gun purchase. Especially not one that inexpensive...I'd rather donate Plasma for a month to earn the extra $250...or mow a few yards on the weekend...geez. Even as low as $25 a pop, it doesn't take long to rack up a couple hundred.

That's how I built my AR-15 last year. Sold scrap metal and copper and brass...was able to build the AR, buy my wife a camcorder for our anniversary, and bought a mosin nagant and maybe some other stuff. Only thing is copper and brass prices are half what they were last year and scrap went from 200/ton to 70/ton. I keep collecting copper and brass but I'm waiting to get enouhg to make the run the the scrapyard worth it.

I've sold pistols before and as far as surrendering my pistol permit, I have never heard that. All I have to do to sell the pistol is have it sent thru an FFL so I can get a receipt to take it off my permit. I was never impressed with the pistol...jams every other round. Bought it cause the price was right but regretted it after a month. Just glad it gonna be gone now.
