Well last year if some of you recall I got myself a really nice (no canted sight, etc) Romanian WASR 10. So far its been 100% reliable a great "beater gun" to blast away with.
It came with a bunch of Tapco furniture that did the job but it imo was butt ugly and made my AK type rifle look like a big black lunchbox. The parts werent necessarily bad but I think it just made my rifle look like a cheap toy.
So not too long ago I replaced everything with some made in the good ol USA KVAR furniture and I gave my rifle a nice make over. It feels like a whole new rifle in a higher AK class. Yea i know its still just a WASR, but it feels like something better.
Its amazing what a couple parts can do for one's image lol.
Yea thanks, i want to put something on the muzzle too but it has a welded muzzle nut so I need to have that fixed first.
Those are easy to take off. Check the older posts, I know it has been beaten like a dead horse but all you have to do is get at the weld with a small hack saw and cut down a little bit. Put a pair of vise grips on the nut and every 30 sec or so try to turn it, it will break free and you will have nice threads underneath.

Nice, I know my wasr came with the tapco side folder and it was a big ol' piece of crappola. But I love the Kvar stuff dude, awesome that you found one without canted sites lol

Dang, that looks almost like my Siaga face lift. I used K-Var also. Great stuff, and the stocks, besides being tougher than the comparable Tapco stock, K-Var has the butt trap for the cleaning kit. Good job! It looks like an honest to God AK should look.
If you cut the tack weld off, I recomend an AK74 style brake, since you have no bayonet lug. A decent one can be had for $20 without changing to the the 24mm front sight brake.
PM me and I will give you a link to a decent one if you get to that point.
If you want to change the front sight base to a 24mm AK103 type like I did on my Saiga, I will give you some links to that too.

Just be certain when you twist, to turn it to the RIGHT, not left!!! They are reverse threaded. +1 on Sprout's suggestion. Hack saw, SLOWLY!!! then twist, and repeat.
