In the Grand Canyon state it took 5 days for mine to process. We can carry any caliber we want and theres no limit on the number of firearms you can carry. 8 hour class with a 10 round qualify shoot.$60 for the permit and it's good for 5 years.

The waiting game then ensued. Originally; before the big boom the wait was approximately 90 days. When i checked my mail over the weekend, BAM! it was there. It pretty much took approximately four months (120 days); which wasnt that bad considering the filled bins they have on standby. I feel a new sense of comfort, safety and responsibility now. Just wanted to voice my happiness to anyone willing to read.

Congrats, now you can join in the fun of carrying concealed.

WOW. Ya' learn something every day. Of course, not living there and thus not having a CCW, I guess I'm not expected to know this. lol And if I did live there and have a CCW, I'm sure I would.

But now that I do, what a friggin' shame. They let you carry yet they prevent you from carrying at least the same caliber, if not a bigger caliber then the thugs.

I don't see them on the list. What about .357Sig and 10mm? If they're allowed, I think I'd choose the 10mm.

its purely the ones i listed. same goes for LEO and contract security G license unless you are specially authorized due to department needs.

when you fill out your application it actually has all the laws in the booklet and the last couple of pages are tear-outs are the actual application .

florida permits now last 7 years which is nice but the fees are on the very expencive side ( really 2 fees since your fingerprinting fee is done elsewhere)

Sure, same goes for LEO and SG's. But the thugs and other lowlifes won't abide by it.

I think I'd be looking into the two other calibers I listed if it were me. Just to make sure and maybe to get them to consider and maybe add them to the list... Ya' never know and don't know until or unless you inquire. lol

Submitted paperwork the outrageous $79 fee and got fingerprinted. Let me tell you something about getting fingerprinted. The cop has his rubber gloves on and he goes "relax your arm and hand and walk with me." What he didn't tell me was he was going to have this mammouth grip and about dislocate my wrist. Its like how bout you relax your grip there Stalone. Oh and the ink...don't even get me started on the Impenetrible Ink of Eternity that stuff would not wash off!! But back to process time, the lady said it would take 60 to 90 days.

Im sorry everyone i made a mistake on the Florida CCW calibers.
i was reading the FS700 something laws and i was reading the wrong section for the limited caliber. it regulates G license but not the ccw calibers.

Congrats, KleintL. I was as pleased as you are when I got mine. This permit gives a great amount of security as well as responsibility.

The wait is worth it ......Mine took almost 6 months ???? Sheriff's dept forgot to stamp the back of my finger print card so I had to resubmit some paper work .! It was kind of funny .....every time I would call to inquire , the lady would always tell me to wait 60 days then call back .... I would say your kidding everytime and she would reply everytime ,NO Sir , We Don't kid about Things Like That ...LOL!

First picture the movie A Christmas Story when the old man gets his "Major Award" and you'll know what I felt when I checked my v/m at work when I heard the lady say "Billy, hey dude, your Concealed Carry Permit. You can come in and pick it up anytime."

My sudden want to jump around like the old man in A Christmas story was so needed but alas I was on the throne so doing that would have ended distastefully. Anyways to make a long slightly disturbing story short, I got my CCW and I'm happier than a retard in a helmet store.
