CCW Permit ...Finally

Im in the sunshine state and just wanted to give a heads up to anyone waiting on their permit to arrive. I pretty much went thru the whole process and somewhat kept track of the time it took to get to me. With all of the news of more people here in Florida applying for their permit; it seemed that it would never come in. I sent it in around February and they cashed the check within 2 weeks. The waiting game then ensued. Originally; before the big boom the wait was approximately 90 days. When i checked my mail over the weekend, BAM! it was there. It pretty much took approximately four months (120 days); which wasnt that bad considering the filled bins they have on standby. I feel a new sense of comfort, safety and responsibility now. Just wanted to voice my happiness to anyone willing to read.

I just got mine in today and like you I am excited and proud to have this permit. I too am very aware of the responsibility that comes with it.

What will you carry?

Huh?! So regardless, you had to resend the whole thing over again whether you were donating or re-applying?

At this moment, I only have one firearm which is my Taurus PT140 in a 100 Professional holster.I have more guns on my 'to get' list but i have more time than money at this time to make those purchases.

Congrats on your CCW permit.

We in Illinois can only dream about that.

Hopefully we'll vote most of these rat bastids out in 2010 and make the necessary changes???

I know my vote isn't going to be for any of the "CURRENT" politicians. Well except for maybe 1 or 2 that is...

Again, congrats...

Good for you!
Too bad it took so long.
Here in N.H. it only takes about two days,I'm so glad that I live in this state.
Just remember one thing;
When you use it,don't abuse it,or you'll lose it.......................Forever.
Stay safe.

yeah they kinda did it to hold it up a little longer. it was 5 bucks so it was no big deal but they told me it was $65 not $60.

Here in the State of Wyoming it is a wallet-breaking $79 for the CCW Application. So either tonite or it may have to be Friday I will be sending in for it. I've already filled out the paperwork just need to get the cash and go back to cop shop and sign it in front of them and begin the waiting game. Maybe because I was born and raised here it won't take long?(I hope.)

unfortunately florida regulates what you can carry to certain calibers.

357 with 38 loads , 38 , 380 , and 9mm.

i really wish they would put .40 and .45 on there too
