Just a reminder for all you Missouri shooters.... Just across the Mississippi in Illinois there's a .22 bullseye (rifle, open sights) meat shoot the 2nd Sunday each month during the winter. Last weekend I walked away with 4 packages of meat... 2 packs of T-bones, 1 Rib-Eye pack and 1 NY Sirloin pack. Had the T-bones grilled amidst the incoming snow this evening.... MAN, they were good! Nothing better tasting than meat you've beaten 15 other shooters to win.

Shoot in indoors at the Millstadt Sportsmen's Club, 4915 Schmidt Lane, Millstadt IL. Next shoot in 2nd Sunday in January. Bring your best open sight rifle (peeps and ghost-rings, OK) and have some fun. Bar and kitchen are always open during the shoots. Just so you're sighted in.... 38 feet with CCI CB Longs. There are some GOOD shooters there... you'll see everything from 513 and 523 Remingtons, Anschutz, Winchester 52's and 69's, etc, etc. For you Marlin 39 shooters.... I've had several 39's through the years. And I have YET to see anyone with a 39 walk away as a winner at these bullseye shoots... so I hope you bring'em and demonstrate how the Marlin 39 lever gun can beat some of the other rifles.

Drop me an PM if you need directions or have any questions. You can also get me by clicking "chat with the author" at the New Madrid trilogy page at The New Madrid Trilogy Home Page. (Anyone feel the New Madrid burp this last week? The first book in the trilogy is EXACTLY about the faultline.)

Happy Holidays to you all. Take care and stay sober. Hope to see y'all at the meat shoots in January.

Welcome all new Missouri members ! Looks like we might be growing faster than any state on the site.
We are trying to organize a Mo get together for the spring where we could meet one another and do a little shooting as well.
Weigh in with your thoughts.

My father has a 120 acre farm in Fulton which me and my friends enjoy shooting on. I will have to check to make sure he won't have cattle on the back fields but they should be clear. Also I know the Finger Lakes gun range is a very nice free shooting range.
