I decided to finish my restoration project of a 1943 Long Branch No4 Mk1. When it was given to me the stock had been cut down to sporterize it and the rear sight had been removed ( it was tapped and drilled for a scope mount).
How can I find out which rear sight should be on it?
When I look around the net for sights I see a std dual apeture sight, the flip up ladder style sight, and another odd looking ladder sight.
For what it's worth, my 1941 made U.S. PROPERTY Lend-Lease Savage Arms No.4,Mk1 has a flip up ladder sight with a fixed aperture ring when the ladder is lowered. I hope that helps.
