Does anybody remember....

....a member that went by the moniker "Armorer?" Seems like he had a few hundred posts or so and was a regular not long ago. I noticed that his "handle" no longer exists. Did he change names? Banned? Remove membership?

You're right. There was an "Armorer" and he's been silent for a long time. I remember him writing about working in an armory or something like that.

Armorer left a last message, asking specifically for no reply about 6 months ago. If you remember he had Schultz as his avatar. At any rate, he told a story about some issues he was having personally and didn't want to bum anyone out. (in a nut shell) Hope he's doing ok as well, seemed like a stand up guy.

Alan.....I'm guessing that my wife's exams went well as she seemed to be in a good mood when she got home. The week's worth of waiting for grades is going to drive her crazy though. The boy has a chest infection and she is going to take him the the Dr today......and as usual, I accomplished less than I had planned on the house. Those little one's are funny, even though they are sick, they still go and blow all day!

I just read Armorer's last post and it sounded like he has a serious issue. Doesn't sound like he's coming back, either.

I've been searching the site by member name and "advance search" and alhpabetical order of members. I can't find Armorer anywhere. How are y'all locating locating his posts?

Okay, I found it and am troubled by what I read. I should say it is ironic that I started this thread because after reading his "farewell" post, I realize that he is eluding to me at the end of it.

I remember the genrality of the thread. Somebody asked about some sort of ammo for some sort of firearm (The specifics of which I do not recall). I remember that Armorer posted a reponse that included an indepth description of a particular round. In that response he mentioned that it would penetrate body armor. I remember responding myself that we did not truely know the mental stability of the thread starter, and I was not happy reading responses that included comments about body armor piercing ammo. I further recall that I was not as nice as could have been in my response. I remember that he retracted the statement.

I am saddened that he left for that reason. I have utmost respect for his service in the Spec-Ops craft as my own father is still dealing with memories of his years in the craft.

I enjoyed his posts and willingness to share knowledge with all of us.

My most sincere apologies to the rest of you for "running him off." That certainly was not my intention.

1*, it wasn't your fault, I'm sure. It's just one of those things. He obviously felt the need to go himself.
Cheer up!
