Talking Cruise Ships...getting sick again????

I live 10 miles from the cruise ship termanal so its big news in our area....even work with a few guards who work part time at the port....any way a few ships includeing Disney (who spent a week cleaning and replaced matersess..pillows ect) have come down again with the Norwalk virus......we have been kicking this around at work....cant find a common link....except maybe food provider.
diffrent Crews..diffrent passangers....diffrent cleaning rules ect.

So what do you all think about the ships comeing down with this virous over and over???? is it just a fluke or (along the lines of 1* small px ??) a bigger consperacy?

Angry SO WHY CAN'T IT BE.....................

a terrorist attack??? a few sympathizers, with a little bio weaponry??? doesn't have to be deadly to be effective. any way thats my theory, just seems very strange that this shows up just about weekly.:spaceship

i tnink it is terrorist think back a minute . bin laden said he would bring the USA down finacialy so for the air line industry got hit with 9/11 then. you got all thses other companies that are going under and now it looks like it's the cruise lines turn now. we had a rash of forest fires this year too wich hurt the lumber industry hard too.next will be the railways . wait and see if something doesn't happen to the trains . not to mention all the money we are spending on this war against terrorism. pretty soon we will all be broke. and bin laden would have achieved what he said he will do.(bring the US down financialy)

I've thought about the Norwolk virus thing too.

I said right after 9-11 that cruise ships were sitting ducks for terrorist activities.

I think Al Quida, and bin Laden, are so egotistical that if they were involved I think they would take credit. Then, again, perhaps not.

Wanna put a heck of a crunch on economy? Sabotage some very major refineries and distribution depots. That would also open the gates for the alt fuel and lower consumption engines we all know the oil companies are keeping off the market.

$10 a gallon = $45 dollar a pound beef.

Thumbs down

I've been on a few cruises and from my experience there's definitely not the same security measures taken when embarking as there is when boarding plane flights. VISA's, Passports, Birth Certificates, and a picture I.D. will get you on board. Those are all easily forgeable.

Once on board there's almost free reign to go all over the ship except to the Bridge and other mechanical areas. Almost nothing would keep someone with criminal thoughts from moving about undisturbed.

Hope the SOB's are nailed fast if it turns out that someone is planting the virus, etc. on board ships.

The news had a small blurb about this stuff....last year there were 25 repoted cases for ALL Cruise lines (Normaly Norwalk virus is not a reportable illness...but Cruise ships have to report it to CDC)....last MONTH there were over 1500 reported cases.....hummmmmmmmmmmmm

Thumbs up

Just wondering....Are these claims from nut cases who are tying to collect insurance from the cruise lines? Or are they for real cases of genuine sickness?

My guess is that at least part of them are trying to get someone else to pay for their cruise expenses, plus a huge nest egg for Christmas gifts, too.

Maybe I'm just paranoid???
