(I haven't checked it in a while but I'm sure it was around 2-3 inches high at fifty yards, after I adjusted the scopes to their limits) I've been through three scopes. All of them were pretty cheap the most expensive was around $90. None of them would ajust low enough.
I gave up not wanting to spend a ton of money on another scope and just put the rear sight back on. All of the scopes I bought were variable 9-3x scopes. I've been thinking of giving it another shot but I figured I'd first see what other people were putting on their rifles.
Any suggestions would be great. |
The 'proper' mounts would be the Parker Hale type 20 and 21 (front and rear) but this does involve drilling & tapping the top of the receiver for the front mount, used in conjunction with something like a Pecar scope will give you everything you need.
A 'no gunsmith' alternative would be the B Square mount which fits onto the rear sight mounting and the ejector screw. This is a fairly high mount but I have used it without any problem at 100 / 200yds with a "big" (20x magnification) scope.
I reckon its your mounting thats wrong rather than your scopes.
