Being in a position where money is not easy to come by, I would have to say that my desires and wants are limited to the following:
1. A model 1911 .45 in the $700 to $800 range.
2. An AR-15.

for several years i've been looking for an old savage or stevens break open or bolt action in 25-20.... sounds like a fun calibre, and i reload, so ammo isnt a problem......

Probably for me a Colt Woodsman 4.5". Got a line on one for 700.00. Now I have to see what I will part with to get it. After that a M1A or an AR type 308.

Why not look for a newer marlin 1894CL in 25-20?

Hah, I really wish they did. But no. Good observation from your vast and superior knowledge of firearms.

In Viet-Nam we used only WW II weapons such as M1 Garand, M2 Carbine, Grease gun, Winchester Model 97 shotgun. The THompson was available but the **** thing weighs too much so when I needed a close in 45 ACP weapon I chose the "Grease Gun' and naturally my 1911 :>)

Well if we're talking "Dream" rifles I would love a Westley-Richards Best Quality double barrel rifle with ejector and sidelocks. I would be happy with that rifle in .303 British, .375 H&H Flanged or .470 Nitro Express.

Moving just down the ladder to "Maybe - One Day" I would have to go with a BSA Lee-Speed Sporter Rifle. Either the No. 1 or the No. 2 Pattern. My first choice for caliber would have to be .303 British but I could live with one of those rifles in .375 Flanged Nitro Express.

Finally we come to the "Possible" category. In this category I would like a Remington Model 30 in 30-06 or a Savage 99 in .300 Savage or .303 Savage. These rifles are not only within my reach, but I expect to get one of them in the next couple of years.

Sorry I had to dream a little.

If you want a B Pitts thow-away. I'd prefer something fresher.
Jessica Alba would be nice.
I'd finish off my M1 Carbine collection and then try for an M-14. maybe.
