It wouldnt matter if you knew them , It takes a Government approved Ammo Import license to get any shipped in and Past U.S.Customs at the Port.
A friend of Mine tried to get one...He Held a High Security Clearance with the Government prior to leaving the Military and Getting An FFL...He was rejected without reason...

Google for 'em. Just ran accross some E. Euro manufacture's contact info on one of the Ak forums a few days ago while reseaching ak markings ?thinking bout importing? No expert but I think the buracracy and paper work will turn you off quick enough. And you'll need to buy millions to get them to say on the phone with you. I think the buyers over there are getting what they can, when they can. Don't meen to turn you off or anything. Actually would love to see more people go after more ammo for us.
I'm surprized dansammo is haveing a hard time getting anything decent at a decent price. He used to have all kinds of goodies. Maybe hes just spending more time fishing these days.
I wish I knew the real story behind this "ammo crisis". I think the ammo manufactures took a lesson from The Apprentice. Sell less for more always won.
It will probably be eastern European and South American distributors and manufacturers that take the market away from the greedy bunch we have here. The truth is, they already started taking the market years ago and they will probably set up manufacturing plants here in America such as some foreign gun manufacturers already did. This price fiasco will probably be the coup de grace for Remington, Winchester, Federal, and PMC. Good riddance.

Sent a email to Winchester today about prices at the supply stores and pretty much told them that others and myself are not happy with price gougeing ,makeing them aware of what prices for 22LR and reloading components especially primers.I get emails on ocasion from them, acording to their profits they only show a verry slight gain in profit.I let them know that I will not buy from them and will seek components and ammo from elseware, maybe monday I will get a real response instead of a automated responce.

That’s a good idea. I'll write them and the other companies too, and let them know of my displeasure. Of course, I'll give them some unwanted advice on how to keep from totally losing what could “again” be a great market. There used to be a day when markets were created by farsighted companies. I have a feeling that the profitable Remingtons, Winchesters, and Federals of yesterday are going to be the Seller & Bellots, Aguilas, and Wolfs of today. So be it. The free market will punish the greedy … and reward the innovative.

Well today did'nt get any emails from Winchester but got a reply from everyone else that I emailed about some other things.I dought they will answer. They had sent me an email about the new hypervelocity 22 LR ammo they just came out with and I fired up on them about prices at the supply stores. They probally wont send me any more emails and that would be fine with me,they dont need to advertize ammo that only wealthy people can aford.
