My dogs decided it was a good idea to start peeing on my tomato plant. Now its turning yellow and wilting. Any ideas, besides keeping them away, to get the plant back to normal.
It's probably the uric acid in the pee. Thats why a yard get the dead spots in the grass. Tomatoes like acidic soil but you might need to add something to neutralize the soil a bit.
Hey White, believe it or not they are yellow cherry tomatoes. I knew about the pee burning the lawn and thats exactly what they did to the one part of the plant which is getting burnt but the rest of the plant is looking like its gonna die.
This is all because one of the mutts had surgery and can go down into the yard until he heals. Damn dogs are worse than kids.
I grew those yellow cherry tomatos last year... no dog pee involved, and they were more of a pear shape or roma shape and I didnt think they were all that flavorful or good personally anyway.
seriously though MJ, I would just try to flush the plant out with straight water and dont add any ferts to it for at least a couple weeks until it gets all the toxins out of its system.
