The "Colony"

Guys on July 21st at 10:00 PM on the Discovery channel there will be a show about chaois in the streets and a group of 'ordinary' people band together to survive and protect them selves. May be a series, who knows??

The name of the show is COLONY

Ther are some other shows coming up in the future about the same situation so maybe it will be the thing that is a fad?

Thanks for the heads up - it's on Outlook! Anyone wanna bet the mighty government machine crushes the survivors (to discourage any real or perceived thoughts among the awakening sheeple)? Just a hunch............

Intersting concept. I thought it would be more fictional account rather than a contrived reality show.

I think they need to be more concerned about their inventory and security. I imagine as time goes on they will.

How PC! No firearms! Would've been my first aquisition. I have several criticisms, but I'll just lay off and watch Y'all hack it up.

watched the first episode... uh... wish it was more of a real cross section of people not three engineers, two doctors and other specialized people... the handy man seemed to me to be the most realistic person in the group, my father is a jack of all trades or a handy man... weres the soccer mom or the grocery bag boyor the military guy or cop. those would be the real people in that type of situation...

the concept of the show seems sound though... will see how the other episodes pan out...

I liked the first episode a lot. It will be interesting to see how they work out their security. There is a 'biker gang' group that, as part of the show, is instructed to harass and attack the Colony members with out harming them in any way, (but the announcer says that the colony members don't know that) I doubt that or someone is going to get hurt.

The group is a little lopsided, missing the 'average-Joe'. The one guy that you could call the 'average-Joe' has a crazy temper and could cause some serious problems. Will see how the others deal with this hot head.

I noticed the dearth of firearms as well. Kind of makes sense when they are being assaulted by outside forces who aren't actually going to hurt them. Because personally, I'd be shooting first and asking questions later in that scenario.

The choice of engineers in the first groups makes sense. However, the marine biologist makes no sense. Then I read her bio. Amy West is certified in CPR, rescue diving and emergency response. I'm still wondering where they really plan to take this, though.

yep, our regulations disallow any projectile over 600 fps, must not be lead based, require sensitivity therapy and have to be lubricated with patchouli oil...
