Ammo made to go bad

My wife informed me that she heard that they are looking into making ammo that will go bad after three months. Anyone else heard this rumor?

It's an old wives tale. There is no way to do it with current technology.

Its BS joe and you know it that kind of science hasn't even been invented yet . You would have to have a time release capsule inside the primer or something of that sort . Don't beleive it all just fear it all could be true .

Now the micro-tagging of propellant is another story...

Taggants didn't work either - they throw off the burn rates and make the loads unreliable, and DANGEROUS. No powder company wants to deal with the legal can of worms that would create.

Taggants are being promoted by a shell company that's owned by the company with the patents to the technology.

Also, can we stop with the "crying wolf!" please? Thanks.

jrswanson I think he was just worried and came here to check! Heck if I heard that I'd probably do the same. Now someone coming in here and saying "My daddy told me or my friend told me that The Big Bayuhd Obomba is gonna take all our guns away" would be crying wolf.

If anyone is really interested, you can sign up for NRA/ILA Legislative Alerts, so you get a spiffy email from the NRA saying what legislation is coming up that affect gun ownership, including stupid crap like this.

Even though I don't shoot Wolf in my AR's, I've found it to be perfectly suitable ammo in every other caliber/gauge I've shot it in.

i think remington is already doing this..... I bought some 8mm mauser ammo and in that box of 20, 8 did not go off, when I inspected the prmer strike it was perfect, I called remington and they said that sometimes a bad lot gets through there QA department..... But this is from the fact that remington ammo SUCKS not from an exp date on ammo! I laughed when h said they have a QA department!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any time the liberals/Democrats want to get some thing done it's ALWAYS "for the children".

When it comes to budget cuts they always say we will have to open the prison doors, lay off police and firemen. They never think about reduceing the cost of government, cutting departments, lay off admin personell, etc.
