Wow, I thought people only used fear mongering to sell life insurance! I best go invest in some Spam... Cool idea though, any excuse to avoid going outside sounds nice to me.

Having extra food on hand could be helpful in times ahead...

everyone should have at least one moth worth of food at home.
if one is "bugging out", how will he/she trasnsport one (or more) year(s) worth of food?

As of this past Saturday I've started building a food back up supply. Well sorta.

I bought 2 box's of tooth picks and put them back. Now all we need is some food.

What's the shelf life? I didn't see that mentioned anywhere.

Mountain House is expensive, too - but it has a 25 year shelf-life (at least).

Survival food

There are some cheap survival food options online that have high calorie content and will last for a few years without spoiling. But yes, food is definitely worth it, even just to have something to munch on and ease the stress of a survival situation.
