We are working to vote them out of office. These people are from LA, Sacramento, SF Bay etc. They are immensely difficult to vote out of office. Incumbents and such. Nordyke v. King - Calguns Wiki

If those of you in Ca. want things to change, you gotta vote the morons in office proposing and trying to pass this stuff out of office. Until you do, you got no one to blame but yourselves. Same for us in Illinois.
But, until other people step up we're all stuck with the morons we have. | We're trying! we're trying!

Here is some new information. After reading ab962 I got lost, but I understood it when I called the office of Kevin De Leon (916) 319-2045. The staff there seems very versed with the bill. I was told that I can purchase more than 50 rounds of ammo, contrary to the belief that you are maxed out at 50 per month. Also contrary to the belief that you may not purchase from the INTERNET is also false. This bill states that you can order online, but it has to be sent to a ammo vendor, similar to purchasing a firearm and a FFL.
In my opinion, another stupid hoop to hop through, but I live in a area where there are reasonable people, why am I being punished for stupid people in other areas of the state. The people who want this bill to pass live in gang areas, and they feel that it will give them another tool to get gang members who commit violent crimes.
So is this really the right way to control gang activity, censor ammo purchases?
Censoring brings up the next issue, my identity is now being recorded and stores who have my finger print, address, and signature on file. This wont be very secure. Who is to say that some one wont steal that information and commit identity fraud. That is my issue - my identity.
I oppose this bill because of identity fraud issues.

I just got off the phone with emily Cohen at K. DeLeons office.
She tried to explain that I could still buy ammo online but it would have to go through a licsenced dealer. I told her that would increase the price. I put forward the suggestion that a handgun cert and driver licsence should do the trick. I pointed out that I don't have to get a thumb print to buy a cased of whiskey at costco, to which she replied whiskey doesn't kill anyone. HA.
anyway, I would urge my fellow californians to call Kevin DeLeons office and in a calm rational tone ask him to justify his position of punishing law abiding tax paying citizens.

DeLeon's office does not know anything. I've called in 20 times or more. Ms. Cohen is a real idiot btw. Seems to believe that guns will kill people without any sort of input from the end user.

I agree, she'd doesn't know anything about firearms. and when I suggested this bill would be like requiring someone to leave a thumb print when buying a case of whiskey in case they gave it to an alcoholic she told me whiskey doesn't kill people.
I will not be voting for any incumbants this time.

Whiskey does not kill people? WTF? I think she needs to go and look at the Drunk Driving statistics or how many people die of cirrhosis

The D-bag who holds the congressional seat in my part of town ( North east L.A) has run unaposed the last couple elections. It's bad enough to be represented in Congress by someone who you do not agree with in 90% of the issues, not having someone else to choose on the ballot is even worse.

Time for True Grit to run on the independent ticket then :-). Don't say you're a republican in Cali or you probably won't get in...

And while Obama won CA by a big margin, more californians voted for Mccain / Palin than any other state ( popular vote that is). 5 million + for Mccain & 8 million something for Obama. So there are tons of Republicans here, they are just outnumbered in the coastal counties. The sad thing about the above numbers is when you combine them they are no where near the poulation of CA, a lot of folks still dont vote.
Dont forget that the term " Regan country " came from describing the voters in the "red" parts of the state ( Orange county, riverside, central valley, et.c).

Very true, but people around here at least hate people who are even the slightest bit red. However with the same views, if I say I'm a libertarian they love it...

| You California gun owners and shooters stick together. Educate as many people as you can. If the leftists want to spout, spit, and carry on; then let them. They won't need any help. In the meantime get organized if you aren't already and throw some National Institute of Justice stats at them through the local news forums that show that where there are the fewest gun restrictions imposed on law abiding citizens, there is declining violent crime rate. You've got the facts on your side. They don't. All they have are drums and tambourines.

and we get NO SUPPORT from people in otehr states. FFLs in other states won't take the 5 minutes to register on the CFLC and help us to screw the state legislators by buying out of state, out of state ammo sellers sometimes won't sell ammo to us even where it's legal to do so... gun parts...
and so on. it's infuriating! We can't do it all ourselves! WE NEED HELP! | I often travel to San Diego to work at the Naval Air Station, staying 3-4 months at a time. I always bring a couple of pistols for recreational shooting , and I always take someone I meet up with locally from work or a date, to the range. I love San Diego, even though I have to leave my "good" Glock mags at home. There's a lot of interest in shooting there, there were at least 3 indoor ranges within 10 minutes of my apartment.
You can always find someone interested in learning, as long as you don't blow them out with "brand snobbery" or infantile "9mm vs .45 " arguments, and avoid engaging in "Gungeek" speak with other shooters and gun shop workers.
