Need Ultra Compact Advice

Hi all!

I have a chance to buy a used Ultra Compact .45 SA.

The gun has (added) an aluminum match trigger, Delta hammer, beavertail grip safety, tuned extractor and Hogue wrap around grips.

I've never owned a 1911 nor a Springfield Armory gun before, does anyone have advice as to potential problems this particular gun may have?

The store lists this gun as 98%, they're usually pretty accurate in their descriptions.

Thanks!

David

S/A ultra compact

I have one (.45 acp) that is not tricked out, but does have a factory muzzle brake. Shoots very accurate to about 25 yds. I shot a human silhouette target from 15 yds. and scored 248 out of a possible 250 with 25 rounds of 230gr. jacketed roundnose ammo.

i don;t shoot 45's any more, but know it is a sin to bad mouth 1911's.
i have an xdm, that is the best 9mm i ever owned, including the hi pow( also a sin to write that). never had trouble with any springfield product.

They have a great warranty if you do have problems. I can vouch for the SS Loaded Champ. It has been perfect.

Shoot what you can hit with. the only sin I can see is buying and depending on a gun that only scores misses , it when it counts.

The full size 1911-A1 I carry every day is as reliable as the sun. Shoots an average 2 inches to the right at 25 yds from a rest, but if the bad guy is that far away I will have other options. Not one malfunction so far in (I am guessing) 2,000 rds of varying styles including my own reloads. If it is dependability you are worried about, only you can be the judge. Mine has been absolutely flawless! I am in the market for a small/backup 1911. It will be a Springfield.
