Tools

I'm looking to buy a tool to remove the recoil tube nut on my 6-position stock. I've found several, but don't have the experience to know which are the best. I do know that the really cheap tool has a bad rep for breaking, so that one is out of the question. I found the following on gunbroker and would like input on which is the best deal or if there is something better out there. I'd like to keep it as inexpensive as possible as funds are running low.

AR-15 M-16 M16 M4 ARMORERS TOOL COMBO WRENCH AR15 : for AR-15 at GunBroker.com

AR 15 DPMS,BUSHMASTER,STAG MULTI-TOOL MADE BY STON : for AR-15 at GunBroker.com

AR 15, M16 & M4 Multitasker Tool AR15 : Cleaning Kits & Supplies at GunBroker.com

colt m16 wrench bushmaster ar-15 m4 milti-tool : for AR-15 at GunBroker.com

Go to Sportsmans Guide.com and they have what you want for under $25. Just type in AR15 wrench in their search box.

Ahh. I didn't see those last time I looked there. The one thing I want most is to be sure it won't break on me. I'll be removing the tube nut put on at the Bushmaster factory and it's pretty darn tight on there. Do you have one of the wrenches personally and know it'll hold up?

Just glom onto it with a big pair of vice grips!

Seriously, check Brownells and Midway before you buy, at least for the description and an idea of what the things can cost new. You might find one at a gun show, or possibly might find a gunsmith who would take the nut off for a less than the cost of the wrench.

I really want to do it myself. I enjoy working with my firearms and don't like the idea of someone else messing with them, even if they're completely qualified.
