big price difference, but I'd go with the colt, might think about it a little if the DW didn't have a bad hammer.

I'd buy the colt, the stainless steel gets me, i just have gotten tired of wearing the finish off guns or having them rust i know S/S can rust i patrolled a beach one summer, but it usually dosent.
I'd buy the colt, because it works and the other one seems to have some malfunction.
I'd buy the colt, because of availability of parts, thgere must be more troopers out there than dan wessons.
I'd buy the colt, because I've never even seen a Dan Wesson at a range, or in a holster, admittedly i don't know why but do you want to be the one to find out?
Just my.02 good luck -rich

Dan Wessons are seldom seen in use because of huge mass and grip size. Becomes pretty specialized sillouette, target gun for people with huge hands - I can't grip one well enough to shoot it accurately. I shoot with two guys (big guys) who have them and they LOVE them - they are a very accurate gun. When they are working.

As ususal, depends on your purpose. If you are big and want a specialized pistol and a project, D Wesson might be great. If you got it to a good working condition you would have a greatly improved investment.
For a carry gun, for home defense, I'd go with a smaller handier pistol - more like the Trooper. Certainly do not need a Big gun to shoot 357, Ruger SP101 and similar power snubbies prove that.
