I've got a chance to buy a H&K USP compact .45 at a good price. I want it for concelled carry and was looking for some input from folks that own one and some of the pros and cons. All I've read seems to say the function reliabely but what about accurscy say out to 50 feet or so? Thanks in advance for your help....Bob
I have the USP compact in .40 S&W and like it a lot. It is not as compact as the 2000 subcompact in the same cal, but has a larger magazine.
If wanting to conceal a .45, I don't think you can go wrong with either the USP or perhaps a Sig Sauer P245. I have the Sig, and the single stack mag makes for flawless feeding. Also, it can handle the .45 Super without much modification... just change out the recoil spring. This makes for a wallop regarding recoil, but in the situation it would be used in, that would not be such a concern.
I can't tell you about the .45 but my 9 has several thousand rounds through it without one single hiccup. HK's are great. I would have more but I don't have the funds right now.
Well, I got the USP Compact .45 and took it to the range. I still can't belive the accuracy. this thing shoots like it had eyes. Rapid fire from 7 yds.....3 to 3 1/2" group. 10 yds......4' group and slow fire off hand at 50' it shot a 1 1/2 to 2" group. Recoil was managable and overall so far I'd have to say this is one of the finest guns I've ever handled.....Bob
I spent about an hour with a HK rep yesterday and he said about the same thing, but he was talking about the full size tactical model. That's pretty impressive for a compact.
