I'm looking for the toughest mount/ring combos and or one peice mounting systems or rail mounting systems. Something that can take a good few bumps and still remain true. Any advanced techniques for mounting would also be appreciated. Along with links to sites with info. I'm also looking for a good tactical scope to go along with the solid mounting system. Mil-dot is a must. Something in the 4-12 or 5-15or20 power range. And something thats proven. I'm not going to shell out money just for a name. If it works well, it works for me. Thanks.
Good Luck, and well at least you know enough to get a one piece scope base. I've got a 20 MOA base you may google and look into getting one of these. I still have a 100 yd zero, and because of the tapered base I have more elevation for longer distance shots, (600+) if I'm ever lucky enough to have a shot like that. I'm on my first mil-dot scope and I'll never have anything else on top of this 308.
I have a 1 piece Leupold Pictanny mount with the Burris Xtreme Tactical rings (wide with 6 screw caps). if hit hard enough the scope may bend, but the mounts should stay true. one interesting setup by Deadnutz intigrates the rings and base together. never used one tho. for some reason that system just doesn't appeal to me.

Burris Xtreme Tactical are about as tough as I have ever seen, better be prepared to lap them for awhile.
