Camo Truck Vinyl

Has anyone put this stuff on? Camoclad Outlet Camo4u – Home of the Camoclad Outlet, Camo Bug Shields, Camo Truck Kits, Camo Wraps, Camoclad Vinyl Accent Kits - I got a set as a gift and I am not sure if I should pay someone or do it myself. Any pointers would be appreciated

If you are even only moderately handy you can put this on yourself.

use a hair dryer or heat gun to smooth out the curves and funny shapes you might find

I work at a bass pro shop and we have a tundra that had that stuff on it. It didnt last, but I think it was due to people picking at it.

When I worked at my uncles body shop I learned how to put decals like wood grain on vehicles. The best thing to use is a solution made by 3M specifically for decal installs. What you do is spray it on and put the decal on. With the soulution you can move the decal around as needed. Once you get the decal in place you then squeege out the water with a plastic squeege. Work the water and air bubbles outwards from the middle. With the soulution you will have plenty of time to move the decals around and if you have to you can remove it without worry about it sticking and tearing. I have used this method many times to replace many decals and it works like a charm.

No the spray doesn't remove any of the adhesive. You do have to make sure that you remove all the water and air out from behind the decal and that's about it. Here is a link I just found that has a little more info than what I had given. It really is pretty simple to do and with the solution it takes away some of the fear of having to get it right the first time or you screw it up.

I have taken a glass cleaner bottle and filled with water and a drop of dish washing liquid to put decals on things with excellent results. What little bit of soap I used did'nt hurt a thing.

Question ?...Is the camo cut to fit body panels or is it a sheet of camo that you have to work with ?

And do you have to use a heat gun or blow drier to aid in apply it ?

The camo kits I have seen advertised were vehicle specific so I believe they are cut to fit. You should not have to use a heat gun or blow dryer unless you are working outside in the winter. My uncle would just have the guys leave the vehilces in the shop over night where they would remain warm. One thing to note though is not wash the vehicle for maybe a week with a high pressure hose or automatic carwash just to be on the safe side.
A.H. I have tried the soap for applying window film on the inside of our house windows and found that it dried a little faster than the 3m solution. I bought some more window tint that had some of the application soulution and was able to apply the tint fairly easy. I can tell you this it really has made a difference in the late afternoons upstairs.
