I have looked all over the web and can't find any directions or good pictures of the 500 trigger group. I need to take my trigger group apart, but want something to refer to when I put it back together. Any help out there?

If you can't find anything, might be a good idea to take a picture of it before you start. You could also maybe, if you have one, video record yourself taking it apart so you could then maybe refer to it and use it to put it back together? Just a thought.

Okay, well I took it apart and actually got it back together. The only problem I have is after you pump it and pull the trigger, it won't pump again without pushing the action lock slide. I looked at the trigger group and when the hammer goes forward the action lock lever does not go down. I think the action lever hammer spring end is not in the right place. I actually have another Mossberg 500 to compare it to, but I can't tell where the end of the spring should go. Anyone know? I think it needs to go into the hammer somewhere. I will try it tomorrow night.

Don't know what you are trying to do but you could videotape yourself doing it for reference. ,,,sam.
I don't know if I could put that much cursing on the web. Wow, was it a pain. Those springs fought me all the way. I actually got it together one time and decided I had the wrong pin in one place, so I took it apart again. What a mistake. Tomorrow when I take it down, if I can help it at all, the springs will NOT come off the pins.
P.S. What I am trying to do was take it apart because it had some rust in the trigger group. I brought this shotgun back from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. My brother-in-law lost his house during Katrina. All they found was his gun safe and it was half full of water. He had four guns that sat outside my other brother-in-law's house for a few years until I took them to try to restore them. I have the gun completely restored except for the trigger group.

Oh, it's not over yet. Won't get to it tonight, but this time tomorrow night, it will be working. If you never take things apart, you'll never know how they work. Plus, I enjoy working on them, even when they make your curse. I'm 53 years old and finally decided I should have been a gunsmith.
