I Gotta agree with most of it. It's how the free market works. $3 for a t-shirt made in the phillipines, $15 for a watch made in Taiwan, How much are you prepared to spend to buy something made here. When I was in Rapid City SD, I wanted a pair of cowboy boots. I went to a huge boot store in a mall. I asked for a pair of boots made in the USA. Just a plain pair, doesn't matter what kind of animal, what have you got? NOTHING. the guy couldn't find me one pair of boots that were made in the USA.
out of at least 1000 shoes in that store.
so, if you want jobs here, we have to save longer or work for pennies like they do in the third world. I for one have no intention of working for $2 a day just to compete with some bangledeshi kid.
We used to buy shirts, made in the US, good name brand, striped like a railroad engineer's hat. We went to buy some more last year, the shirts are still for sale, for the same price, but you got to choose if you want them made by Russians or Chinese.
It seems like a lot of stuff is selling for the same price as in the past, but now manufactured in other countries. Someone is raking in some money on this.
On another note, try to find something to buy that is still made in the USA.
We made our bed a long time ago when we developed an appetite for cheap
goods, and did not protect our manufacturers.
Now, the situation is biting us on the a$$ and in our wallets!

I think Justin Boots are the only brand of cowboy boots still made in the U.S.A. Not 100% sure though.
