Blackberry Bushes

I want some blackberry bushes nearby. I don't want to walk into the woods to get some blackberries. How do you plant them, and how do you get them to their biggest and juiciest?

Order them next spring from a Nursery or pick the wild ones and then sow them where you would want them to grow on your property. They'll come up next year but don't expect a big crop.
The more you sow the more you'll have...A.H

They sell a thornless blackberry bush too! Wild ones are usually pretty viney and take years to really start producing.

I would follow AH's suggestion and order the bushes to be delivered either this fall or in spring.

For big juicy berries, make sure they have plenty of fertilizer-we use horse manure.
I dug a trench along one of our fences for ours, about 2' deep, and mixed the manure in with the dirt. That gives the roots plenty of loose soil for growth. Put them in a place where they will get plenty of sunlight.
Other than that, keep them well-watered.
