Everyone does alittle personal sniping ,both sides of the ally but to threaten leagle action or to insult someones kid or family, both parties crossed the line of any civil conversation. I done my share of sniping and being sniped at,I try no to take it to personaland hope any one in my crosshairs does the same. Waterdog.

Hummm have I messed up putting this hear LOL !!! I could make millions you know LOL !!!
Anybody wanna go in with me ??? | Now your talking. I think that everybody on here should just relax. I hate it when this forum turns into a place where everybody is ranting and raving about things. I come on here to get away from problems and at the same time further my knowledge in guns.

What they should do is make a whole seperate forum specifically made for rants and raves and whic ever moderator Chris is mad at that week has to take care of it. LOL

Let me start this post by saying I do not know any of the gentlemen involved in this issue or the circumstances behind it. I am a relatively new member, and I have to agree that the whole purpose of this and any forum is to express viewpoints, ideas, and provide help and advise. That should never be done in a mean or nasty manner. I have dealt with people my entire life as I have been a retail manager for over 25 years and have learned that how you say something is just as important as what you say. We have to learn to express ourselves without getting rude and nasty. We are going to have different ideas and different feelings about certain hot button issues. Some of us are passionately pro-gun and conservative, some of us are somewhere in the middle and some are more liberal in our views, but we all share the feeling that gun ownership is an important right that cannot be taken away. Getting personal with our attacks and threatening people is counter productive to a fair and equal exchange of ideas. If a moderator feels that I or anyone else needs to be banned for violating the rules, whether I or anyone else likes it, that is their right to do so as the moderator. I would expect the same treatment if I violated the rules. I am also aware that we make friends on these forums and when one of our friends is the one banned, we can get upset. However, as emotional as it is, we should try to set aside our feelings and look at the reasons why the ban took place. I also realize that for some, this is not possible and in that case, they feel their only recourse is to leave. I always hate to see people quit over such things, but it will happen and everyone will just need to move on. Politics aside, I would like to think that ultimately, we are a forum for discussion of not only general firearms but issues that concern our rights to keep and bear arms. And I hope that all of us in the long run will realize that we are all supposed to be dedicated to the same goal, teaching others about the responsible ownership of firearms and how to enjoy shooting, whether for competition, hunting or just plinking.

The problem is, we have several members (myself, included!) who can be goaded into going ballistic. Unfortunately, some folks seem unsatisfied until these folks are pushed over the edge. I'm not saying it's right on either side, but it IS unnecessary. We all have our viewpoints, some of us will defend said viewpoints to the death. For guys who've actually fought and shed blood for that right, well, who can blame them for speaking their mind?
All-in-all, it's a tough situation that ultimately belongs in the hands of the site owner.
I for one, don't like everything I see coming out of the moderators' mouths, but I wouldn't want their jobs. (I hear the pay's excellent, tho! )

Toolman,
Thanks for the complement. I am not immune either. I have been goaded by customers a couple of times, so I know it can happen. Strong views and strong opinions can and do generate on occasion very emotional responses.
When it gets too overblown or personal is where the line gets crossed and feelings get hurt.
I agree, I would not want to be a moderator either. It's kind of like being a manager. You're everyone's friend or at least tolerated until you make an unpopular decision, then everyone hates you.
