Well, it's finally happened. The final straw. Since I'v been privilaged to be a member here I like to think I've made a lot of friends. We've shared a lot of laughs, cried a little together, prayed some together and shared our knowledge and life experiences with each other.
But there has been a change in the forum slowly growing like a cancer and taking the friendly-family feeling from the forum.
It seems like it is centered around one member to me more than anyone else. I ever went so far as to put that member on my ignore list because reading their posts upset me greatly and left me in a bad mood.
Now, a member I thought a lot of has apparently been banned for something he said (which I do not understand). Chris stated that he had been threatened with legal action(who from?) and I guess I am to understand that is why that member was banned.
All I can say is count me in also, if others can say anything they want about members and get praise for it and someone gets banned for expressing his frustration at the world in general; then it's time to leave.
To my friends, I am sorry I am so selfish as to feel I have to leave to find a place like this forum was when I joined; but life is too short, time is too
costly and my bp is too high to let me continue to be bummed out by one or two members that think their way is the only way the is.
I wish you all the very best in the trying times to come and hope you all will come out the other end stronger, wiser, and healther.
God Bless,
Snuffysmith
i banned bro.bob for threatening both a supermod and chris. he is only banned for 7 days so he will be back soon... if you feel you must leave then have a good life i hope the best for you.... SQB

Reason: spelling
the problem is know one will explain what happened. fine, its a private site, but we are private people, entitled to leave. which will happen.
another site has moderators on a power trip,(must be the moon) problem is its the controversial members who make it interesting.
7 days isn't forever..I joined this forum because I needed some advice. I have had my hissy fits also. I'm truly sorry CGO and Scotty have decided to leave as they had alot of good and honest input here, and I will miss them. There does seem to be a movement here, but I'm staying.. I like the talk, the people, and the help I sometimes can give.I'm also staying in the hope that the people who have left will come back.

This site is getting a reputation of being a liberal gun site. I normally frequent sites that do not allow tree hugging anti's on it. There are plenty of sites that would more than welcome Bro Bob and all us old gezzers that have seen Communism first hand and KNOW it is trying to put the death gas of suppression on our Constitution, because they brainwashed your kids in school and with the TV. Some people here are not on the same learning curve as to what's happening to our liberties, so therefore the differences in ideology, which they are using to divide and conquer us. We all fell right in to the trap, some climbing out to adapt while others feel content to think everything is OK. Still the division remains. They will continue to roll over our rights until this nation stands as one to this. We are a nation of cowards for not stopping this. This nation desperately needs to get it's priorities straight and get back on course.
There are some right here on this forum that are anti gun moles as it is becoming clearer.

Well, as one of the 'liberals' here (though most left-wingnuts will claim no kinship whatsoever with me thanks to my 2nd Amendment views), I feel I should address some of this. Sadly the extreme left-wing does not corner the market on giving people's Constitutional rights the shaft. Reprehensible things such as the curtailment of habeas corpus and the conducting of warrantless wiretaps were done by the last administration under the guise of keeping us "safe". It's all a matter of which articles and amendments are subject to "creative" interpretation.
As far as "seeing Communism first-hand" is concerned, you can't crowd me out that way. I happen to have lived over in the Eastern Bloc (Poland, specifically) for a stint as an exchange student before the Berlin Wall fell. (Wow, it's been 20 years since then! ) I got to see some things that worked, some things that didn't, and some that were downright scary. If we want to discuss and exchange experiences there without falling back on propaganda, I'd love to, but that's another thread.
Yet despite my differences in ideology with many of you on a lot of issues, I am pro-Second Amendment and a proud gun owner. As they say, politics makes for strange bedfellows.
I don't think that it is a bad thing that there are "liberals" on here. We're not that scary and it's refreshing for me to be on a forum where I needn't be staunchly right-wing to be accepted as a member and benefit from not only the firearms expertise, but the tidbits of info on the survival forum as well. (I'm not ready for any zombie invasions, but I try to keep my skills up to where I can handle myself in this desert I live in seeing as I often explore the wilderness.) Most of the U.S. population is somewhere in the center ideologically; with that in mind, it's a GOOD thing for the Gun and Game forum to do more than preach to the choir, figuratively speaking. It's the center that is going to tip the scales in favor of the Second Amendment if the center believes that we're not a bunch of right-wingnuts.
If people think I am some sort of anti-gun mole for this dichotomy, it's ultimately their loss, but here's something to think about: Wouldn't a mole want to closely emulate the ideology of the demographic they're trying to infiltrate?
Let's try to lighten up and agree to disagree on our different issues. We've shown before that we can be civil about it without blowing things out of proportion. Seven days is not forever, and just like certain threads get locked by the mods when they get a bit heated, sometimes we need to lock ourselves when we get a little hot under the collar.

+1
Couldn't agree more. I may be a conservative but I am a centrist as well.

It's a private website; your membership is a privilege, NOT a right. If the administrator sees it fit to ban you, it's his or her right (and some would argue duty) to do so. Threatening legal action against a web forum is ridiculous; is your membership here REALLY worth the court fees? Come on folks.
This the only forum I've ever been on that has people constantly making these dramatic exit threads. You guys are older folks. Most forums are full of pimply faced angsty teenagers and even THEY aren't as drama-prone as this forum.
I think it's time for everyone on here to take a giant f*cking chill pill and just deal with it.

When I joined it was a lot more peaceful than it is now. Quiet a few members come and go for various reason's and always will.
Some regular members here like me, that are here everyday, I suspect start takeing things for granted.
And because they've been here for a while they assume there bullet proff and can say and do what ever they want to.
That's not the case and we do have rules we have to follow. Though we bend these rules often enough and get away with it sometimes.
It's still breaking the rules.
Interesting enough we become close friends here without ever haveing met in person.
When someone your close to gets banned it does hurt others feelings. I have a lot of friends here and Bob, Seabee, CGO and Snuffy are some of my close friends.
I do hope this matter is resolved or forgotton and that we all can be that one big happy family we call ourselves sometimes.
Anyway I feel this situation is way blown out of purportion.

You nailed it AH! I have only been a member since January, but have gotten close to many members, look forward to reading certain members posts and their takes on particular threads. I actually teeter the fence on some of the views here. I like the fact that not everyone has the same ideas here... how boring would it be if we all did? In most debates I have read on here it stays pretty civil and even if both sides don't come to an agreement you have probably grown as person by at least being able to see why the other side thinks the way they do.
Politics and Religion... the big two deal breakers and rabble rousers! I think drinking and typing can also lead you to bad remarks! LOL
Disagreement is fine on topics, but keeping it civil is the name of the game.
Also... we are suppose to be gun totting men/women on this site that are standing together for a common passion and cause... getting us divided helps the anti gunners ya' know! So lets act like the gun totting rugged outdoors people we are and not kids on the playground throwing a fit when someone gets their feelings hurt!
This isnt the first squabble I have seen since joing in January.. heck I got pissed myself once and several fine gentlemen on this site reminded me... its just the internet and people are more likely to post inflammatory things here then they would ever dare say to your face, just laugh and shrug it off.
Gun & Game is awesome... lets keep it that way! Quit your whining and if you are really mad... take it out with some lead on some cans or a silhoutte target!

I think this is a good time for me to invent a Teddy Bear that has velcrol ears, eyes and nose.
And when you punch it in the stomach it yells OH !!!!!.
I can sell them to members of Firearm forums that get upset at other members.
You can tare the ears off and pluck off the eyes and bite the nose off.
And then when your done with your aggression you can put it all back together again ROFL !!!
I might even have a little tag over the left pocket you can write a person's name on it and easily erase it when your done.
I think the world is ready for this Teddy Bear...What could we name it ?????
