our group

Hi guys,
I was checking out the group section and found something interesting! There is not a missouri group . We had a role call awhile back and I believe we have enough Mo. members to constitute a group .
What do you other missiorians think about having our own group on the forum ?? If interested please give some feed back . If your not interested , well, you can feed back too!! LOL !

Tim,
That's what I thought this sub-forum is...a group.
I'd join it.
Perhaps a MOGat (Missouri Gathering) would be a good first step. We could match faces with names then a group would be more meaningful and fun.
I've been looking at some of the MoDOC ranges for camping facilities that might make a good centralized meeting place.
Just a thought.
Dave

Dave,
I was just having a thought . I seen other states have their own social group on G&G. We are on the same tract I think though .

Maybe having something once or twice a year for our missouri members to congragate at would be more friendly . person to person from all over the state should be a good time .

Maybe we could call our group the MOGat group ??
show me state group ??!

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this ?

Tim,
I know there's a couple more who would like a rondevous so's to speak.
Call it anything, but PLEASE NOT the "show me" group.
I don't know who made up that motto, it simply drives me to pullin' my hair out. It seems to insinuate the Missourian residents, and government, is so stupid one must "show me" before it's real. That may be true for the state government but not for the real people...lol
Come on, folks, please give us some input...you won't have to show us anything. <grin>

How about the MO Mules!? I for one would enjoy a rendezvous of MO members, the meet at a park would be a great idea...just make sure we can shoot there! The White Ranch Conservation area has a shooting range and a 6acre stocked lake...but it's at the southern border, not very convenient (except for me LOL)

I think AH could come to...even if he is a Arkansan! LOL

I've been eye-balling Gist Ranch in Texas county. I need to check on availability for a MoGat.
It has a large parking area at the range.
The range is 25, 50, 100, 300 and shotgun. The 25, of course, is designated pistol.
Range has no fees.
Has a privy but that's it.
I'm still looking for others.
Andy Dalton at Bois D'Arc is nice but is usually pretty busy and has a manned range. Range fee is $3/hour and I don't know about camping yet.
Just some feelers but we do need some input...and heck yeah, AH can attend if he wants and any others from AR and KS.

Andy Dalton does not have camping facilities.

jarhead ,

were exactly is Gist ranch? I use to live in dent co. and never heard of gist . I think we might be onto something now .We need input from other members !! maybe a voting contest to name our social group and a prize for the winner . each person that joins would maybe send a signed spent shell casing to the winner of the contest !!!!!
name option's;
MOgat
MO Mules

Does anyone else have some thoughts on this??We would like to hear from you .

Four miles west of Summersville on Highway 17, turn south on Route W and go 3 miles, then turn west on Ranch Road, and go 1.75 miles. An entrance road to the area is 5 miles west of Summersville on Highway 17.
This is from the MODoc website. I like going there but it's a little over an hour drive. I think it's a fairly new facility.
What about "MO Lead Spitters"
Need to be a little humorous, I think...lol
Mogat is more of an event than a name for a group...just my opinion.
I'm glad somebody responded, I was beginning to think it was just me and Thrillbilly...lol No offense meant Thrillbilly

I like MoGat, event name could be stated after nearest town or place as in Dent event, or county, Dent 09.
Read MoGat Dent 09.
Central location would be good.

Whetstone creek conservation area has a range and camping is available. It's in the central part of the state as well. Just a thought.

I have 25 names on the MO list but 7 of them I have no location.
JTuck, Scout6925, Tertuis, Suhl Man, Jj123, and Marion57.
If these guys will let me know where they reside I'll map all of us and try to figure a more central location.
I gave Gist Ranch info because of the ranges and distances. Problem is there are only 3 benches on each range but that may be fine depending on how many attend.

Oh...MOgat is fine with me. It's better than some of the names I've been called...lol

Jtuck lives down here with me...over on the west side...near Springfield I think?

I'm off Sundays, but work Saturdays so I need at least 3 weeks advance notice to ask for Saturday off.

Fellow Missourians - Sounds like an excellent Idea. I will post a new thread asking folks for their location (town) or nearest town and we can come up with an idea of where everyone will be coming from. I (and others) can then make a few calls about some nice state locations with perhaps a range nearby, and possibly some camping facilities. Everyone can suggest their preference as to a one day or two day (over nite) get together, so we might need to come up with a cheap motel or something. Anyway, I will post a new thread for location log in and we can at least get started with something cooking for a rendezvous in say six to eight months or so. Maybe sooner;.

I'm near old jarhead. Ava is more or less 50 miles east southeast of Springfield. Summersville works great for me. Andy Dalton range in Springfield is real close. Whetstone Creek might work too. Just has to be a weekend.

Cole County is about as central as it gets.
Scrivner Road Conservation area.
Gun range-pistol, rifle shotgun.
Lakes/ponds for fishing
Primitive camping
Privies

Located 3 miles south of Russelville. A little west of Jeff City.
It looks to be about 15-25 miles from Jeff City, so there should be lots of motels near there.

I would be interested in a gathering, the schedule's just a little hectic at the moment. When were you all thinking about scheduling this for?
