Yeah ya just don't get much value for $20 these days. I looked at that little Lee press for decapping and other light work but didn't buy it. I haven't bought a NEW press yet and I have four of them. Both the Lyman All American and the Hornady/ Pacific were free and are rock solid cast iron.

There is a guy on eBay from time to time that sells six hole turrets for the All American. Have you ever seen them?

Sorry, I think that might be eight hole.

Thumbs up

My Lee O-press and 3-Hole Turret Presses have given excellent service for ten years. Good value for the money, as long as you buy what's needed for the job. Avoid the 'light duty' stuff if you are going to FL size or reform brass.

Sorry you took a hit on the press, gamehunter, especially at that price. I didn't realize that the cost of these items is so high in New Zealand
It is a very light piece of equipment. I hope that you are not soured on Lee products, because I have had good luck with them.
Good luck in replacing your press.

My 25 year old Challenger press begs to differ.

I'm not ignorant enough to believe that every product they make is that weak. I just don't buy THAT press.

well when 9 out of 10 broken presses you see are made by LEE, that says something. even that cheap azz rinky dink little press should be able to FL size a casing. with LEE, if its not the press body itself cracking its the linkage.

Dude, could you post a smaller picture? From what I can see, it looks like it broke the exact same place that mine broke. I was resizing .308 cases, too. Weird.

I would have bought another lee press as the classic cast iron O frame is available here for $250NZD but I had the opportunity to get the Lyman Orange Crusher at a reasonable price of $150NZD even though it is a second hand press brand new I would have been paying $450NZD off the shelf for the crusher2 press, $400NZD for RCBS and redding and even more for Dillon or hornady LNL.

It broke off at the base of the press I wish I could enlarge the picture but it is at photobucket where it is linked as an avatar picture on a NZ based fishing and hunting forum I belong to and they are very tough on pics over 20Kb in your avatar and I deleted the original off the camera.

Personally, I haven't seen nor heard about 10 broken presses! Two, maybe three in 30 or so years. Abused, yes, failures, few.

Mine too. I bought it used for $30 and have used it a lot myself on everything from 9mm to 30-06, with no problems. I've also reloaded thousands of rounds with the hand press with no problems with it either.
