Synthetic Stock for Wood Stock TRADE?

My shooting buddy bought a new RUGER M77 "Hawkeye All Weather", stainless finish, in .204 Ruger cal over the weekend - only .204 Ruger in our area - he is a dyed in the wool "wood and steel" rifle guy and thought he could warm up to the synthetic stock; well he can't and now we're looking for a factory wood stock! Anyone out there interested in working a stock trade deal? "robert.scheib1@verizon.net?

Kind of takes the "All Weather" out of the equation. I think he'd be better off getting a laminated stock to keep the stability of the synth with the feel of wood. Just my $0.02.

Yeah I know...BUT.....he has a very large collection of Ruger rifles, ALL of them are in factory original wood stocks AND he mainly bench shoots. Thanks for your thoughts.

Change of heart.....

After a making call to RUGER to inquire about buying a new OEM wood stock, and having a nice visit with a lady in customer service, my shooting buddy has "seen the light" concerning the synthetic stock!! So he's going to leave it as is and shoot it. FWIW RUGER says the synthetic stocks are hand fit to each rifle - a replacement wood unit would have to be "fit" to the action and bedded; according to the nice lady it is difficult to get equal results from "wood" without a lot of effort. Thats our story and I will be sticking to it......
