Bubba brings 'em home.

WBBM 780 - Chicago's #1 source for local news, traffic and weather - Freed journalists home in US after NKorea pardon

For all of his other faults, and they are many, Bill Clinton really is a very fine diplomat. I have always believed so.

He negotiated the releases of the reporters Euna Lee and Laura Ling from North Korea.

Nice to see things sometimes work out okay.

Funny Obama couldn't do it himself since he is supposed to be such a fine orator. I think it was all the Uhs separating every 5-6 words is what did him in.

I kinda figured it would end this way, except I didn't think Bill Clinton would be the one. Kim IlJung knew he would let them go if America would just ask properly.

Not a fan by any means but this is a feather in his hat. Too bad the Pres is denying any involvement. I thought he may have found a feather also...oh well. Glad the ladies are coming home.

As perverse as it sounds, I actually thought about that when I saw them getting on the plane with him

If dirty Willie can sell bliss to Hill, you know that Koreans never stood a chance. Just think - a whole big happy world.

I'm sorry, but I'm probably going to step on some toes here.

These two were somewhere they knew they shouldn't be, and they apparently entered North Korea illegally. They knew what could happen to them, yet they still did it! They were forced to face the consequences. Maybe 12 years hard labor is a bit rough, but that is what North Korean law dictated as their punishment. So these two geniuses get busted, thrown in the labor camp, and then everyone cries foul!? Give me a break. Now we have to tip-toe through the Tulips with these North Korean assholes because two morons broke their laws. Kim Jong Ill is looking compassionate and caring to the rest of the world because of this too, he won in this situation, no doubt.

Please show me where I said anything nice about North Korea. What, are you displeased a couple of reporters were spared a draconian punishment forwhat is, at best, a minor trespass?

Man, you're really trying to poke the hornets' nest aintcha? Won't work, though.

Face it, Bill is a good diplomat. It's something the man's got a gift for. I never said he didn't have other, serious character and judgement flaws (both personal and political), but he's damn good at negotiations.
