Time for some math

How far can number 8 shot fly if fired at a 45 degree angle?

How far can number 7.5 shot fly if fired at a 45 degree angle?

Using muzzle velocities and ballistic coefficients I found on the web (they vary greatly. I got 102 yards on #8 and 113 yards on #7.5

If anyone wants to play I would really like to see what you guys come up with.

Really, your best range is achieved at about 34-35 degrees. A 180 grain boat-tail chambered in .30-06 will travel over 3.22 miles.

Were you using G1 or G7 for the drag form?
