Here you go. And if you're a member, about half of the price you mentioned. Only $13.47 and a mere $14.97 of not a member. For one set though, not two...

Thanks GM. That is still a good deal for orignal cotton canvas web gear. I might have to get another set since I don't have the large ruck pack that goes with it. The British M-58 web gear balance and ride similar to the old U.S. M-1956 cotton canvas H-harness web gear. I have one of those too.

Seachicken1, if we look at sightnsqueeze's picture... top lefthand of picture shows four pouches... the pouches in the front are large enough to hold 4 sks 20rnd detachable mags. per pouch... the pouches behind those will hold 4 30rnd AR mags or 8 20rnd AR mags. per pouch...

in the configuration of Glockmiester's quote of SnS's post, you could carry either 8 AR 30rnd mags(240rnds of ammo) in the outter pouches or 16 20rnd mags(320rnds of ammo) and then other gear in the two inner pouches or if you have an SKS set up for detachables then 8 20rnd mags in the inner two pouches and other gear in the outter two pouches...

i hope this helps...

finally got the smell down to a manageble level, i washed both sets on heavy in warm water in the washing machine and put the max amount of softener in it... did this twice and it seemed to work my only concern is i wonder if the smell was a combination of storage and any type of water proofing that was on the gear, if so i think i may have just washed it all away... when i go to load the gear i guess everything will get put into zip-loc gallon bags or trash bags for water proofing...

but it did help with the smell though...

Dangitall to Hades! Now ya'll have me wanting some coolio mil-surp duds....I have a question though. I am a "large" guy to put it nicely LOl. I am wondering if any of these rigs will fit me. I'm liking the british 58 rig...I'm 6'7''ish and around 340pds, I wear a 3x Tall shirt...any of ya'll of larger stature tried these out? Do ya think they will fit me?

I think the British rig will fit most big and tall people just fine. The harness is adjustible and not dependent on the issue belt which still goes up to about a size 44/46+. If you have to get a "bigger" belt, just find one that is about as wide for the brass hooks to go around. This same rig was worn by South African and Austrailian troops and they can be pretty big.

You are the exact size of one of my old Huntin' Uncles, and sorry to say they didn't make soldiers your size back in the day! All the packs and rigs I have seen are adjustable, but how much I don't know. Fortunately, I seem to be the exact size of an East German soldier from WWII (5'7" 155 lbs), since that is where my camouflage came from

btw, how in the heck do you fit in a tent???

Another thing to remember too is that the web gear belt is normally "above" the belt that holds up your pants as in the U.S. ALICE rigs.

thrillbilly, im about 6' and 300lbs give or take... the alice "Y" harnes type suspender things fit me just fine and i got a bit of a belly goin' so they work... these m-58 harnes's have more adjustments then the alice one, so i dont see why it wouldn't fit you... brits arent small people either and my gear is dated from the mid 80's, so its not ww2 gear...
