What I am looking for would be a extended camping/ survival tool. I know that every tool has a specific niche and that there is no all around do everything tool. I already have a plethora of various pocket knives, multi-tools, and fix blade knifes. This would be for fairly heavy duty use. I have already checked out condor machettes and they seem very heavy duty. What do you suggest and why.
Question #1 If i decide on a machette there are so many types.I will need help thinning down the list of contenders.
Question #2 I already have the gerber LMF on my bug out bag is there any other knife more heavy duty.
Question #3 I dont want a tacticool tomahawk again heavy duty is a must for me. And where can I get a good hatchet and what to look for.
If there is any other type of tool that would be a usefull substitute I would love to hear about it.
Thank you. For all the input and advice my budget is no greater then $125.00

Reason: addition
Okay, I may have gone a little overboard lately. I now have aquired (in no specific order):
Cold Steel Bushman
El Cheapo 18" $5 machete
Gerber Gator Jr machete
Cold Steel Boar Hunter
Gerber Pack Axe
Gerber Brush Machete
Ka-Bar Camp Axe
Both the Cold Steel products have really impressed me, the Bushman is now a permanent part of my pack. The Ka-Bar is just too pretty to use, but it would also be a fine and lightweight option. The Gerber Gator is just about perfect for most camp chores, following by the Brush machete and the Camp Axe (can't get too much leverage on the little axe, but it sure is packable!) The Cheapo machete is mostly to let other people borrow so they can't ruin my good stuff

Not intended for a weapon, Although anything can be a weapon. The sog tomahawk is not as heavy duty plus the if the handle breaks cant be replaced although it looks lethal. My wife loves cold steel they have a hatchet with a hammer, that might work I have several kabars I abuse all day need a little more heft to it.

To each their own When I handled it I felt that the handle was weak maybe it was a tool that evaded quality control. I will look for another one to try.

Reason: grammar
I have a Cold Steel Rifleman's Hawk. Very tough and the handles can be replaced.
I say tough because I used it for quit a bit as a throwing practice. For the money I think it is a grea buy.
I've no one favorite as I've used all 3 of your basic types listed when out hunting or backpacking. My only advice is buy the best quality you can afford of either of them if your life is gonna depend on it.
Not the heaviest out there, but I'd say the quality is closer to 'utility' than it is 'recreation.' Srs.
Plus it scares the wife when I run around the house with it screaming "Woo woo woo woo !! "
Greaaat! Now you've convinced me. I am going to have to get one so I can run around screaming "Woo woo woo woo!!" ... If I actually tried carrying all the bladed implements I own, I would be crushed under their weight!

I've modified a Kukuri knife according to the sticky by UncleJoeNRA in blades cutlery section. It's leaf spring steel, the knife sharpener wanted 60.00 hr to regrind it. Under the bed. I can Molle it to my pack.
