if some one has any info i would apprecieate it, i just wanna know wut kind it is.
The photos are a bit dark - can you get some 'bright' / 'sharp' pictutres of the butt socket, the magazine, the bolt / action & side shots of the muzzle.
Its not WW1 - it pre-dates it by quite a bit.
You appear to have a 1902 CLLE (Charger Loading Lee Enfield) which pre-dates the Short Lee Enfield (Rifle No1)
BSA & Co obviously 'did something' to the rifle in 1908 - probably Updated it to the latest specifications.
ER = Edward Rex (King Edward)
There is going to be a lot of history in this rifle and its worth investigating properly.
Looks like a nice find there. Good looking rifle, and if only it could talk it looks like it has a lot to say. I'm not as good with my Enfields as I am my Mosins, but if anyone can get you good info on this, its Alan. More pics

My knowledge of these early Enfields is not as good as the SMLEs onwards so I've done a bit of investigation.
The Lee-Enfield rifle was introduced in November 1895 as the .303 calibre, Rifle, Magazine, Lee-Enfield, or more commonly Magazine Lee-Enfield, or MLE Some of the MLEs were converted to load from chargers (stripper clips), and designated Charger Loading Lee-Enfields, or CLLEs.
The CLLE came into being in 1906 so I'm thinking this rifle started life as a 1902 MLE and was up-graded to a CLLE in 1908.
Are there any 'stars' (*) after the CLLE ? This would show various up-grades. The UK used * to show upgrades and it could have 1, 2, 3 or even 4 'stars' as it underwent various changes.
S.M.L.E came out in 1902 Dec. I think. but the brits were still converting lee- metfords in 1903 to 1906 does it have a trap in butt of the stock?IF thats a safety catch on the cocking piece it's prolly a Lee-Metford Mark 2. CLLM CAME OUT IN 1907 After the Boars opened the hurt locker on them with their charger loading Mausers. in 1901-02
charger loaded lee enfield magazine rifle july 1907 converted from lee enfields and lee metfords {1902 date is prolly a metford} thats CLLE MARK 1 you have there. Waterdog.

I ve seen one of those, too. But the date said 1899.And it had no charger.Wouldve bought it but the bore was shot out.Nice find. Quick question though.Would the conversions not have used an older type of .303?Or would they have converted it to a newer type? Just making sure speed don't accidently blow up.

Us Aussies were still using the RN bullet at Gallipoli (1915), IIRC, because that's what we'd been using at home and there weren't enough MkVII-sighted SMLEs in Britain to re-equip the ANZACs.
