Moving to a new server

Just wanted to give you guys an update.

We will be moving to a new server over the next 24-48 hours.

Why?
Our current server is about 5 years old, and outdated. It's also located in California.

The new server offers a much needed update via the processor, and hard drives. We will be moving to a RAID 1, 146GB 10,000 RPM hard drives.

What is the 10,000 RPM hard drives?
The hard drive we are currently on, only turns 7200 times a minute. The faster the hard drive, the faster the server can load onto your computer.

Will the site be down?
Possibly for hopefully no longer than 2-3 hours

Ratz. If the new server isn't in California where I can get to it, how will I manage to subvert it?

Poor troy can't go to the location and hack the server putting a phrase like "VIVA Les LIBERALES!"

The new server is located in Dallas, Texas.

Thanks Chris, I'm glad you let us know. I wouldn't want to get booted to GoDaddy again.

Talking

Glad you made this post, Chris. Hopefully, it will prevent paranoria...from setting in...and we can refer members questions to it later on from persons who missed the heads up in advance.

What am I gonna do now, though, while it's down? Let's see...go fish some more, pick tomatoes...clean guns...mow grass...build something in my shop? Sure hope it's back fast before I run out of these chores.

No worries. I have a dozen other forums I can waste my life away on. No wonder I can never get anything accomplished.

I only have the one forum. I depend on video games and news channels for wasting the rest of my life....
