today only, 8-19-09 tactical flashlight on woot

hehe, so here is what a tactical flashlight looks like

Woot : One Day, One Deal (SM)

but it is only good for today, the item will change tomorrow on woot. Figured I would post it here, since this combined with a supremely viable tactical 10/22 would make a man unstoppable.

I just never figured a pivot head or right angle flashlight was anything useful. I learned to dislike them intensely when I was in the Boy Scouts. But hey! It's "tactical" so some guys will buy them.

Maybe it needs a rail to attach a laser to so you can see where you're going to put all that light.

I was kind of hoping someone buys one and then builds a rail for it off a supremely viable tactical 10/22. Then post pics. I admit, I would want one!

I used to have an old flashlight like this I got from a National Guard Sgt. my Dad new. Really liked it until I used it to clobber a opposum in the head. Oppy's head was harder I found out. Guess it was a little brittle from age.

It could double as a front handgrip post and a flashlight on an AR!!

My SIL put a light on his trick 10/22. He got $7 scope mounts at Wally, a cheap LED light from the same place. Wrapped some electricians tape around the light to bring the diameter up a bit, mounted the thing, and now has a light equipped "tactical" 10/22. Total cost for the light kit wasn't much over $12.

I just use my standard 10/22, wrap some celophane around the stock and barrel to protect it, and mount my Streamlight Scorpion 115 lumen light with black duct tape. It works fine, but the SIL has nearly the same light output and a lot longer battery life with the LEDs

Tactical is an extremely effective marketing word. However, what makes a light tactical? I say any light in a dangerous situation will make it a tactical light. Even the ones that come in the Cracker Jack boxes could very well be tactical. Just my 2¢.
