Springfield GI Champion

Is the Springfield GI 1911 Champion 45 model #PW9142LP a good gun?
I'm thinking of getting one and would like to know if anyone has any
input on one before I pull the trigger on it...no pun intended!

Thanks

Many folks feel that the Springfield's are perhaps the finest "out of the box" 1911's made. I wouldn't argue. Springfield is known for quality.

I've got a full size GI and it is the best shooting auto loading pistol that I have. I don't have any experience with the 4" bbl.

In my experience ALL Springfield 1911's are of top quality, and very accurate to boot.

However, I do not much care for the sights on the GI models, for me they are hard to see.
